What is Pet Microchipping?
Pet microchipping involves inserting a small chip, about the size of a grain of rice, beneath your pet’s skin. The chip does not have a battery; instead, it is a tiny electronic device encased in a glass cylinder. When an appropriate scanner is passed over the animal, the chip transmits an ID number. Pet microchipping is the best way to ensure your beloved pet is returned to you if they go missing. In short, it proves your ownership, so it is critical that you keep your microchip registration up to date. Pet microchipping is now a legal requirement, and the process is quick and simple.

Our pet microchipping service is led by Emma Betts, a Qualified Veterinary Nurse listed at The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) with over 20 years of experience caring for animals, including a role as head nurse of a large practice. Emma is also a professionally trained dog and cat groomer and an approved instructor/A1 Assessor in Animal Care and Grooming.

We offer pet microchipping for all your pets, including Dogs, Cats, Horses, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and more. We also offer vaccinations for a range of animals along with free health checks if you would like Vet strength flea and worm treatments.

For your pet’s continued safety and care all staff are trained in First Aid, Animal First Aid, plus Health, Safety & Security, with regular refreshers.

Why Microchipping?
It is a safe, permanent and quick solution to ensuring the greatest security for your pet, should they go missing. A microchip is also a requirement if you wish to take your pet out of the country.
We offer Petlog microchipping at our centre. Petlog maintains a database of all chipped animals and vets and animal wardens scan all strays and found animals for a microchip as a matter of course.

Quick & Cheap
We charge just £22.50 to microchip your pet, which is a considerable saving in comparison with most vets. Chipping your pet and completing the necessary paperwork takes less than 10 minutes of your time and as long as you keep the database current with changes of contact numbers or home address you will always have the security that comes with a microchip for your pet.

Our Location
We are based at Ripley’s Garden Centre, Ashford Road Bethersden. There is ample free parking right outside and a spacious reception area. Our centre has all the facilities that your pet needs for a stress-free experience with us.
